For this blog post, I definitely feel like I used a lot of the grammar points learned in class to express my thoughts about American and Japanese films. When writing this post, I felt like I was taking a step in challenging myself tot write more about abstract ideas than what I normally do. Also, I feel like I've gotten more comfortable using conjunctions, which may be making my sentences flow more naturally.
In this rewrite, I learned that I still need to be more careful with my particles and actually stick to making clear and concise grammar structures instead of piling them one in a sentence. There are still some instances where I received comments telling me to use a more natural grammar structure or words that I haven't learned yet, so that definitely helped. I am using words that aren't covered in class so I think it'd be wise to consult sample sentences using new words just to get the context correct. Overall, I think I did a decent job this second time around.

私の趣味は映画を見る事だから、今学期、ブログで映画のおすすめと批評を書く予定です。アジアの映画が大好きなので、日本の映画も韓国の映画も中国の映画も批評します。それから、ブログで「アメリカの映画とアジアの映画はどう違いますか。どう同じについて考えます。この質問について考えて、ブログの投稿を書きます。書いたら、皆さんは読んでくれませんか。お願います! I think this time, I tried to use more grammar points (e.g. たら form and giving/receiving verbs) which is my goal this semester. There were some instances in this post where I had to dig up new vocabulary and I think I need to be more careful in reading the word in context before using it. Of course, naturalness is something I'm still working towards and that issue has been addressed in the Lang-8 comments I've received. Overall, I think this a small improvement.
実は大学を申し込む時分子生物学を勉強してみたいと思っていました。でも、大学に入って、分子生物学を勉強したくないと思いました。どうして変わったのですか?理科が得意じゃないし、楽しくないと思うし、ラボが大変らしいからです。反対に、本を読むのや作文を書くのが好きなので、文系も大好きなんです。専門を選ぶ時は怖いそうですが、大丈夫と思っています。 Self-Reflection: I think I was a bit more careless in this third Lang-8 rewrite. While I definitely used new grammar points (e.g. みたい,らしい、ば-form), I should focus more the details (e.g. particles, correct verbal form). Naturalness was mentioned again in the correct comments, but I feel at this stage, naturalness will come with experience. Also, flow is something I need to consistently. While I was writing, I kept having to rework my sentences to make them more complex instead of resorting to Subject-Object-Verb format. Appropriately using conjunctions and connecting grammar points would be something I should pay more attention to.
ワシントンD.C.でコンサートに行く予定です。クラシックのです。面白そうですね。楽しみです! Reflection: Looking at my Lang-8 goals list, I think I did what I had planned to improve/practice on. I think I used a good variety of complex sentence structures and grammar points (e.g. embedding both から and ので in the same sentence, using ながら,くれる and みたい). Because the only comment I received didn't mention naturalness, I'm still wondering if my sentences are natural sounding. On the other hand, the areas to improve on would be establishing a better flow with effective transition words, utilizing a greater variety of vocabulary (especially in terms of adjectives), and possibly using more adverbial forms.
